Attorneys

Texas attorneys play a vital role in ensuring that all Texans are afforded equal access to the justice system. From making charitable contributions to legal aid organizations to providing pro bono or reduced-fee legal advice and representation, Texas attorneys consistently demonstrate their commitment on an ongoing basis to the provision of civil legal aid to low-income men, women and children.

Whether an attorney is a partner in a large law firm or a front line legal aid advocate, his or her contributions make a significant difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of Texans each year.

Another way attorneys contribute to civil legal services in Texas is through the Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts Program. The program, which is mandatory in Texas, generates millions of dollars annually to fund the provision of civil legal services to the poor.
